La Bufadora, known in English as the Ensenada Blow Hole, is one of Baja California’s most breathtaking natural wonders — a powerful ocean geyser that shoots water more than 100 feet into the air.

Our private La Bufadora tour takes you beyond the cruise crowds and straight to the best views, local taco stands, and colorful flea markets. Whether you call it La Bufadora or the Ensenada Blow Hole, you’ll experience the same world-famous spot — with your own driver, flexible timing, and guaranteed return to your ship on time.

View of La Bufadora Blowhole long blonde hair sitting on a rocky cliff edge overlooking the ocean with crashing waves and a crowd below, while small boats speed across the water.

La Bufadora (Blow hole) Tour – FAQ

  • La Bufadora is the second-largest marine geyser in the world. Waves push water into a sea cave, compressing the air inside. When the wave recedes, the pressure forces water to explode upward with a loud roar. Unlike hot springs, it is powered by compressed air from the waves, not heat.

  • Absolutely. It's a fun, one-time experience—especially if you go early to beat the crowds and avoid the pushy vendors.

  • The blowhole is most active at high tide (tides change daily). From December to March, midday sun makes it especially enjoyable. Vendors usually open around 10 AM—book the 8:45 AM pickup if you want to enjoy the Blowhole before the crowds arrive.

  • Entrance is free for all visitors. On windy, wavy days, mist can spray the viewing platform—so you might get a little wet! Swimming is not possible or safe from the walkway, only in the kayaking area.

  • Yes. The flea market and vendor stalls are part of the same area—you'll pass them on the way to the Blowhole. Free samples of mango and chocolate tequila are also available in the Bufadora Market. Ask your guide to point out the spot—it's a little hidden.

  • Yes. Guides can walk with you through the market, share insights about the Blowhole, and even help negotiate prices with vendors—all free of charge.

  • About 35–45 minutes, depending on traffic.
