★★★★★

“So much better than the cruise ship”

“We had a great experience! The driver was friendly, knowledgeable and patient. The surf instructor was awesome and encouraged our first-time surfing kids. So much more attention to detail than the cruise ship excursions. For those watching the kids surf, we had chairs, umbrella, snacks and water. The drive to La Bufadora was long and windy on hill tops but our driver did very well.”

“Perfect timing back to the boat”

“We met near the cruise ship and took a brief drive to a private beach, spending several hours there with clean restrooms and a gift shop nearby. We had an amazing seafood lunch and returned to the boat at a perfect time for us. Our guide was courteous and very attentive. We will use Ensenada Excursions again.”

Surf Lesson FAQs – Playa Hermosa

Yes. Playa Hermosa is shallow with a gentle beach break—ideal for beginners to learn safely.
We provide wetsuits for comfort.
• Dec–Apr: colder.
• Jun–Sep: cool but comfortable (often no wetsuit needed).
• Oct–Nov: usually fine without a wetsuit for most guests.
Transportation to the beach, water, a light snack (granola), beach chair, and shade so they can relax while you surf.
• 8:45 or 9:00 AM pick-up (timed to ship schedule)
• 10-min drive to Playa Hermosa surf shop → gear up
• ~2 hours private instruction & practice: beach warm-up → water practice → break → more water practice → clean up
• 10-min drive back; downtown or port drop-off
• Time remains for one optional second activity (Bufadora, ATV, Horseback, Pai Pai, Massage).
Yes. Ensenada beaches are cleared for swimming and see many locals in the water daily. During the pandemic our owner swam here three times a week without issues. The beach is combed several times per week.
Yes—your timing is coordinated so you’re back comfortably before all-aboard.
Free! Epic pictures are included when available.
Yes—there’s time for one more activity the same day. (There’s always time for tacos too—yum!)
Yes—private showers and clean bathrooms (not the public ones).
Yes—your instructors and driver are bilingual.
No. The water is shallow close to shore and beginner-friendly. Your guide is with you at all times to keep you safe and will help you get through the whitewash to ride back in.
You’ll have time for Surf + one of: Kayak (La Bufadora) or Pai Pai, plus maybe a shorter add-on. Surf + Pai Pai + Kayak is too much for one shore day. Valle de Guadalupe Wine Tasting usually doesn’t fit— only a quick downtown tasting does.
