Surf Lesson Reviews
“Great surf lesson—easy and stress-free”
“Great surf lesson! Everyone from the drivers to the surf instructors were really great and helpful. They made the trip easy and stress free.”
“So much better than the cruise ship”
“We had a great experience! The driver was friendly, knowledgeable and patient. The surf instructor was awesome and encouraged our first-time surfing kids. So much more attention to detail than the cruise ship excursions. For those watching the kids surf, we had chairs, umbrella, snacks and water. The drive to La Bufadora was long and windy on hill tops but our driver did very well.”
“Perfect timing back to the boat”
“We met near the cruise ship and took a brief drive to a private beach, spending several hours there with clean restrooms and a gift shop nearby. We had an amazing seafood lunch and returned to the boat at a perfect time for us. Our guide was courteous and very attentive. We will use Ensenada Excursions again.”
Water Quality, Local Conditions & Beach Safety
At our Ensenada surf school, student safety and ocean transparency come first. Before every lesson, we carefully evaluate marine forecasts, local tide movements, and water hygiene standards to ensure optimal learning conditions.
1. Water Quality & Health Standards
We monitor regional sanitation updates closely. Recreational safety along our coastline is formally evaluated by federal health authorities. You can review current bacterial testing metrics and compliance directly through the COFEPRIS Playas Limpias Monitoring Updates hosted via the XXV Ayuntamiento de Ensenada. We only run water sessions when local advisories confirm conditions are fully optimal for recreation.
2. Where We Surf: Playa Hermosa & Coastline Spots
Our beginner and intermediate lessons take place along Ensenada’s most accessible sandy stretches. To learn more about the environmental and recreational profile of our primary teaching shores, explore the official Visit México Playa Hermosa Guide. Depending on daily sandbar formation and swell direction, we also select sheltered backup breaks to match your experience level.
3. Checking the Swell
Curious about what the Pacific is doing before you arrive? Track incoming groundswells, wind patterns, and live metrics using the Surfline Ensenada Regional Forecast.

You’ll have time for Surf + one of: Kayak (La Bufadora) or Pai Pai, plus maybe a shorter add-on. Surf + Pai Pai + Kayak is too much for one shore day. Valle de Guadalupe Wine Tasting usually doesn’t fit— only a quick downtown tasting does.
