Prefer a relaxing cruise?
Not everyone in your group wants to fish, and that is fine. The 39' Day Cruiser and the 50' Yacht also do private cruises.
- Private bay cruises and sightseeing
- Swim stop at Coral Marina (anchor and swim, no snorkeling)
- Boat trips to La Bufadora or Todos Santos (4 hour minimum)
- Bajamar (5 hours)
- Whale watching in season (4 hour minimum)
You can also combine cruising with trolling (4 hour minimum), so the fishers and the relaxers both get their time.
Fishing charter questions, answered
Tap a question to open it.
Will we catch fish?
It is rare to come back with nothing, and most trips catch fish. Fishing is fishing, so we can't promise an exact species or number.
How far in advance should we book?
24 hours ahead often works, and same-day booking is sometimes possible, especially on the 39' Day Cruiser. Earlier is better on busy ship days, when boats fill up. The 50' Luxury Yacht is best booked 24 hours ahead when possible.
Do I need a fishing license?
Yes. The Mexican fishing license is $19 USD per person on fishing trips. We help you buy it online. You do not need one for a pure relax cruise.
What is included?
A private boat and captain (plus crew on the bigger boats), rods, reels, tackle and bait, help cleaning and bagging your fish at the dock, and a plan built around your all-aboard time. The fishing license, tips, and food and drinks are not included.
Will we make it back to the ship on time?
Yes. We plan every trip backward from your ship's all-aboard time, so tell us your time when you ask for a quote. 3 of our boats leave from Cruiseport Marina, right at the cruise terminal.
How far is the Malecon harbor from the ship?
About a 12 minute walk. 3 of our boats leave from the Ensenada Malecon harbor.
Is there a bathroom on the boat?
Yes, on every boat. The 25' Center Console has a small private porta-potty area.
Can kids come?
Yes. Many families book with us, and for a lot of kids it is their first fish. The 39' Day Cruiser is a favorite because kids can troll off the back.
Can you clean and cook our catch?
We help clean and bag your fish at the dock. If you are not rushing for the ship, a local restaurant can cook your catch for about $10 per person. We don't recommend that on a tight port day. Ceviche is prepared on board on the 36' and 45' boats, and it is an optional add-on on the 50' yacht. On the 25' it is prepared at the dock after the trip.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 7 days notice. If your cruise skips Ensenada (No Port, No Pay), the port is closed, or the captain cancels for weather, you get a full refund, deposit included.
Can we bring food and drinks?
Yes. You can bring your own, or ask us and we will set it up. Food and drinks are not included in the price.
Can we go whale watching?
Whale watching is seasonal, with a 4 hour minimum. Ask us when you request your quote.
Will I get seasick?
Bigger boats ride smoother. The 25' feels more swell. If you tend to get queasy, bring simple motion medication.
What payment methods do you take?
You pay the deposit online, with no fee. You pay the balance on the day by cash, Venmo, Zelle or card. Card payments on the balance carry a 5% fee.

FAQs
-
Like fishing everywhere, you won’t always catch a fish on a fishing charter. That being said, it’s pretty rare we don’t catch any fish. Could have a day that you didn’t catch exactly what you wanted or didn’t get that keeper-slot-snook to have for lunch. It’s likely you’ll catch fish; you just might not catch the exact fish you had your heart set on.
-
Yes—tips are always appreciated! It’s not required, but it’s a lovely way to say thanks for a great day on the water. Your guide puts a lot into each outing—time, expertise, gear, and boat care—so any tip you give truly means a lot.
-
Yes—there’s a clean onboard restroom and showers available for your comfort during the trip.
-
Absolutely, we have a fish cleaning station at our marina you set out from. Your guide would be happy to clean and fillet your fish. They can also take it directly to the Riverside Café that’s connected to our marina, they’d be happy to cook it up for a small fee.
-
Yes, it is a simple online form for under $15 USD We will help you do it.
-
Earlier the better, especially if you have a specific guide you’d prefer. Some parts of the year are busier than others, but we do stay busy year-round. We can make a reservation as little as 24 hours or years in advance.
-
Absolutely! Kids are very welcome to go on a fishing trip with us. Our guides are fantastic with kids and will teach them to fish. Charters are also a great way to catch a child’s first fish or take them fishing if you’re not as experienced, and want to make sure they have a good time.

7 days. If captain cancels or port closes due to weather 100% refund
-
Yes, we customize to you. Not included in listed prices.

Just fill out the Request Dates form on this page. Tell us your preferred date, group size, and trip type (Deep Sea or Tuna), and we’ll reply quickly with availability and next steps. Our captain is in high demand and weekends/cruise days fill fast, so booking early is recommended.
What to include in the form (helps us confirm faster):
Preferred date/time window
Number of guests (and kids, if any)
Trip type + any questions or special requests
Best email/phone/WhatsApp for the reply

Not likely. The boat is large and heavy so not tossed around by waves. We recommend simple medication to fully enjoy your time.
What Our Clients Say About Fishing Tour
“Kind, understanding — refunded in full”
“We were on a cruise that was due to stop in Ensenada for a day. We all wanted to go whale watching and a Google search led me to Ensenada Excursions and Tours. I booked a private whale watching trip for our family group as that was the only way to do it around the times we'd be in port and I paid the deposit online. Communication from the beginning was superb throughout, and we were so looking forward to our trip. However the weather had other ideas and a storm meant that our day in port in Ensenada was cancelled by the cruise line. I therefore had to email to cancel and they were so kind and understanding, and refunded my deposit in full. I can't recommend them highly enough and I'm determined that we will be back and will get to go whale watching with them in the future.”
“Crew worked hard — super fun day”
“Our family had a great trip. I fish all over and this crew did work. Great customer service and the fishing was hot. Deck hands worked hard — we all had a blast. Boat is a little slow is the only complaint. Super fun and highly professional and recommend. Was on cruise ship with zero issues getting back. Short ten-minute walk. Taco shop next door made fresh tacos with our catch — super good.”
“Awesome day—tons of local info”
“Was so great! Awesome day on the water with tons of local info. I've been fishing a long time but learned some new tricks. Perfect day, got to catch a little of everything and learned a lot about the local area. Can't wait to come back down and go again! Great outfit, great boat, lots of fish caught. All in all a great experience! I would highly recommend to anyone coming to Ensenada. No upsells, no extras, just great fishing! Thank you for a great day!”
